Tracy Lego
Tracy Donovan Lego is proud veteran of the U.S. Navy who
currently lives in Smithfield, VA with his lovely wife, whose name also happens
to be Tracy Lego.
“I moved to Smithfield Virginia in October of 2004 and
absolutely fell in love with the whole area of Smithfield and Carrollton. I
originally came here to work at Smithfield Packaging as a Production Supervisor
before I left that line of work to pursue a career in Automotive Sales
Management. For 14 years, I conducted various roles in the “Car Biz” with several
dealerships and fell in love with the interactions with the clients and getting
to meet so many different people from various backgrounds. Although it was very
rewarding, I wanted to do something more, but still be able to engage with
people and work with clients. I found my calling through a close friend in Real
Estate. I love what I do now by being able to engage with clients and make
dreams happen. I remember when I bought my current home and that feeling of
being able to walk into your “dream home”, what an overwhelming sense of pride,
and accomplishment that all of your hard work, has finally paid off. That is
what drives me to help my clients now through one of the biggest decisions they
will make! The fact they chose me to help guide them through the process is not
taken lightly, and I consider it be a great honor.
When I am not busy working a large majority of my time is
spent helping the community through my involvement in The Rotary Club of
Smithfield. I joined Rotary originally in 2008 as a way to meet people and
build up my professional contacts. I have stayed in Rotary, because of all of
the great things we do for the community and surrounding areas. I had the honor of serving as The Rotary Club
of Smithfield’s President for 2 terms from 2016-2018, where I led the club to
various awards including the Governor’s Cup, awarded to the best Rotary club in
district 7600. I was honored in receiving the Outstanding Presidents Award and
inducted into the Rotary District 7600 Hall of Fame. During that year, my
greatest accomplishment was the founding of the Smithfield Rotary Happy Hour
Club. A whole new style of Rotary Club, set to engage younger, busy, and the
“up and commers” of the community. After
my term as President I had the great honor of serving on the District level as
the Assistant District Governor for Area-10 of District 7600. I love what Rotary stands for and I believe
in living my personal and professional life in accordance with the Rotary “4
way test” and our motto of “Service Above Self”.
I am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, and die hard
Sooner! Another fun fact, that not a lot of people know, I was born in Keflavik
Iceland.
